A Day To Celebrate ... AGAIN!

On another note of celebration my Grandpa Toyne turned 90 today. 90! Wow. I sat with him this weekend outside as my mom tended to my grandmother who was not feeling well. I could tell Gramps was worried about Gram and he looked over at me and said, "You know, your grandma, she's a hell of a woman. I remember her with all those boys running around upstairs ... she carried a big stick." I just smiled and held back tears as he looked back to the road and said, "We've made quite the family, kiddo." And you know he's right.

It's been a really hard year for my Gramps. He's been ill off and on and I am scared that every time I am home it will be my last time with him. My Gramps is a great man, and I can only pray that one day I will meet the guy that will tell his grand kids that I am, " a hell of a woman".

I was so glad my grandparents could make it out to Ashley's wedding this weekend, it was SUCH a joyous day! I sat with Ashley's uncle Brett at the reception and we chatted about my family. I told him Johnnie Toyne was my Gramps and Brett just smiled and told me that my Gramps taught him how to talk to people. Such a small world we live in. Happy 90th Birthday Grandpa Johnnie, I love you!

Me and my Gram & Gramps at Ashley's wedding. Clearly I get my height from Grandma Mary.
